January 25 was Bell Let’s Talk Day: Raising $$ and awareness for improving our mental health

Bell Let’s Talk. Not sure what I was doing on January 25, 2023 but I missed this important day so am providing a shout out now to talk about ‘good’ mental health. For many of us, obtaining and maintaining a good mental equilibrium is no easy feat. Let’s face it, Covid didn’t help. As a friend of mine shared last week, many are still dealing with ‘Covid Interruptis’. Life in general, put on hold. Isolation led to loneliness and loneliness can lead to depression, anxiety and mental stress overload. The need for caregiving only was increased during Covid and we already know that caregiving can be a lonely road with many caregivers waiting several years before reaching out for assistance.

Since 2010, January 25th has been designated was one specific day for community awareness which Bell donates funds for Canadian mental health initiatives and organizations. They have supported over 1400 organizations and 5,556,322 Canadians have received access to mental health services funded by this initiative.

Awareness and talking about our mental health and caregiving challenges are the necessary first steps.
