Technology and hard drives

At a high level the most basic duties of an executor include; locating and protecting the assets of a testator; valuing the assets; collecting the assets; and then distributing the assets as per the terms of the Will. An executor will also have to deal with items that have no value. In todays blog the question to be answered is what to do with the hard drive found in a testator’s personal computer? Of course, this issue may be less problematic with the proliferation of the ‘cloud’ for storing information, etc. In any event, I have attached a link to a short video that demonstrates how to destroy a hard drive. Watch and enjoy.
