Many of us in the Estates world are also involved in charitable and not for profit work. This week, we decided to use our blog space as a reminder of an annual event that may be of interest to a number of you.
The Canadian Association of Gift Planners (“CAGP”) is holding its 2013 National Conference in National Capital Region from April 17 through the 19th. This year’s conference is entitled “Creating Capital Connections”. More information is available at CAGP’s website: http://www.cagp-acpdp.org/en/default.aspx.
CAGP’s annual conferences are popular and usually well-attended for good reason. They are always informative and provide a great place (as this year’s name suggests) to connect with others, learn, share ideas, and network. I am pleased to be one of many speakers from across Canada who will be participating in this conference. As in previous years, workshop sessions are widely varied and geared to every level of attendee, from general to advanced. Workshop topics include subjects such as planned giving, donor relations, drafting issues, use of multi-media, estates administration issues for charitable beneficiaries, receipting, CRA compliance, interprovincial giving, vulnerable donors, and more.
An additional event not to be missed is the pre-conference event, which will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2013: “Gift Planning – All in a Day!” which focusses on annual and major gifts, and is led by Paul Nazareth and Jill Nelson.
Until next time,
